Copa Xsporty Femenina: 801 Wins the Women's Futsal Title in Isabela

On Saturday, October 3, Isabela was the home of women's futsal. Eight teams made the trip to the west coast of the island for the Copa Xsporty Femenina, organized by LAAMBA Puerto Rico in collaboration with Soccer Vibes Kids: 5v5 futsal, with every team playing at least three games.

The second Copa Xsporty

This was the second edition of the Copa Xsporty. The first was the men's tournament, and ever since, the question was when the women would get theirs. The answer came in October: a full cup of their own, with the same competitive format and the same intensity.

Futsal is made for a one-day tournament. The court is small, the ball is heavier and barely bounces, and with only five per side every player is on the ball constantly. Games are fast, chances come at both ends, and there's nowhere to hide.

The podium

1. 801 – Champions
2. Gallitas – Runners-up

801 controlled the tournament from start to finish, winning all three group games with a +19 goal difference. Gallitas were the toughest challenger of the day and earned second place.

Thank you, LAAMBA and Soccer Vibes Kids

An eight-team tournament doesn't run itself. Behind every game was the LAAMBA Puerto Rico crew handling check-in, courts, schedules and standings so the players only had to worry about playing.

A big thank-you as well to Soccer Vibes Kids for teaming up on this edition and backing soccer in Puerto Rico. Partnerships like this are what grow the game on the island, from the youngest players to the women who competed in Isabela.
